The Challenge

Every paste from Office was a gamble, and it was slowing everything down

Lotte Innovate's electronic approval system sits at the center of how internal documents move through the organization. Employees draft requests, reports, and proposals in Word or Excel, then bring them into the system for routing and sign-off. But the web editor in use had a persistent problem: pasting from Office applications was unreliable. Formatting broke. Tables lost their structure. Layouts that looked correct in Word appeared garbled once they were in the web form.

The issue went beyond compatibility. The editor's table tools were limited, making it hard for users to build the structured approval templates the workflow demanded. There was also no way to draw or place shapes freely, which pushed users toward attaching screenshots or separate files rather than creating content natively in the editor.

The combined effect was friction at every step. Documents required manual cleanup after pasting, templates were harder to maintain than they should have been, and users grew increasingly frustrated with a tool that worked against them rather than for them.
